1) New PAGES Scientific Steering Committee members

After 6 years of dedicated service, Rick Battarbee, Frank Sirocko and Pinxian Wang will rotate off the PAGES SSC in a few short weeks. We thank them for their invaluable contributions over the years. While their presence and input at SSC meetings will be missed, they will continue to play key roles in PAGES new scientific structure.

Joining the SSC this year are 4 new members: John Dearing from the School of Geography at the University of Southampton, UK; Zhongli Ding from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in

Beijing, China; Michael Schulz from the Department of Geosciences at the University of Bremen, Germany; Eric Wolff from the British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge, UK.
