As early career researchers we would like to invite you to apply for a place at the free one-day professional development workshop, hosted by the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), prior to the joint SCAR/IASC conference on the 7th July in St Petersburg.

As early career researchers we would like to invite you to apply for a place at the free one-day professional development workshop, hosted by the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), prior to the joint SCAR/IASC conference on the 7th July in St Petersburg.

The workshop will comprise of a variety of career development sessions with senior researchers and mentors.

Confirmed sessions include:

Research Productivity * Robin Bell (Columbia University)

Great grant proposals * Elena Sparrow (University of Alaska)

Communicating your polar research * Dave Carlson (Director IPY IPO)

Balancing Education and Outreach * Jose Xavier (University of the Algarve)

Antarctic and Arctic Research Partnership Opportunities * Colin Summerhayes (SCAR Executive Director) and Volker Rachold (IASC Executive Secretary)

Finding your perfect polar job * Jenny Baeseman (ARCUS)

SCAR fellowships * Narelle Baker (Scott Polar Research Institute)

Additional mentors joining us for the Q&A panel discussion include Alan Rodger and Nick Owens (British Antarctic Survey), Victoria Lytle (CReSIS) and Terry Wilson (Ohio State University)
