On July 8, 2008, as part of the opening ceremony for the SCAR Open Science Conference, in St Petersburg, Russia, the President, Professor Chris Rapley will award the following three SCAR medals for 2008.

On July 8, 2008, as part of the opening ceremony for the SCAR Open Science Conference, in St Petersburg, Russia, the President,

Professor Chris Rapley will award the following three SCAR medals for 2008:

(i) to Dr. Vladimir Kotlyakov (Russia), the SCAR President's Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Antarctic Science;

(ii) to Dr Angelika Brandt (Germany) the SCAR Medal for Excellence in Antarctic Research; and

(iii) to Professor Claude Lorius (France) the SCAR Medal for International Scientific Coordination.
